A Place for Photography.

Niv Rozenberg

The work “Automonuments” deals with high-rise buildings, and specifically skyscrapers as a phenomenon of modern life. I use photography to isolate city’s fragments in order to construct a new vision, a de-naturalized view of my surroundings. Duplicating and “stitching” one level of a building to another emphasize the uniformity within the architectural structure as well as with its inhibitors. By exaggerating a visual perspective of urban environment and creating an impossible view of our surroundings, the work emphasizes how easily individuality is lost in the visual metropolis. Through this work I wish to transform a visual experience into a hyper-realistic encounters with the space within which we live.
